University of Basra organizes an awareness seminar on (Combating Bullying and Violence in the University Environment)

Under the slogan "Together Towards a Safe and Respectful University Environment," and in line with the requirements of promoting human values ​​within the university campus, the College of Education for Pure Sciences/Human Rights Unit, in cooperation with the High Commission for Human Rights, organized an awareness seminar on combating bullying and violence in the university environment.

The seminar, held in the "Knowledge Hall" at 10:00 AM, featured in-depth academic and legal discussions with the participation of a select group of specialists. Professor Mahdi Qasim Lafteh Al-Tamimi from the High Commission for Human Rights reviewed the legal and human rights frameworks for protecting individuals within institutions, while Dr. Muhammad Mahdi Muhammad Al-Musawi (Head of the Human Rights Unit at the Marine Science Center) addressed the behavioral and social effects of violence. The session concluded with Dr. Amjad Jassim Al-Shawi (Head of the Human Rights Unit at the College) highlighting mechanisms for activating dialogue and rejecting bullying among students.

The event aimed to establish a culture of tolerance and build a stable educational environment free from all forms of abuse, emphasizing the university’s role as an educational and ethical incubator that seeks to protect the dignity of the student and promote the scientific research process in an atmosphere of friendliness and mutual respect
