The Council of the College of Education for Pure Sciences at the University of Basrah held its second regular open session for the 2026–2027 academic year on October 8, 2026. Presided over by the Dean, Prof. Dr. Majid Mohammed Jassim, the meeting was attended by the Associate Dean for Scientific Affairs, the Associate Dean for Administrative Affairs, and all council members. At the outset, the Chair welcomed the members, and the session addressed the following agenda items:
1- Directives from the University of Basrah presidency.
2- Discussion of organizational aspects regarding the mechanism for monitoring the performance of academic departments and regulating their workflow.
3- Discussion of deferral requests from undergraduate and postgraduate students.
4- Review of completion rates within the Student Information System (SIS) across departments, identification of obstacles, and formulation of appropriate solutions.
5- Review and discussion of official correspondence from the Ministry.
6- Academic promotions.
7- Report by the Associate Dean for Scientific Affairs.
8- Report by the Associate Dean for Administrative Affairs.
